The Mill House Wedding Venue in Lancashire - The wedding of Lucy & Sophie Bell-Gray
This lovely couple contacted me a while back about hosting their wedding on 1st July 2023.
The whole day was lovely from start to finish with guests arriving to a red carpet entrance with a specially designed welcome board with the brides' initials intertwined to create a bespoke, personalised logo. Canapes were served after the ceremony with prosecco and bucks fizz welcome drinks. At the wedding breakfast, everyone dined on the Barbeque Sharing Platters consisting of cheeseburgers on brioche buns, californian sausage and lemon and paprika skewers, served with caesar salad, warm new potatoes and brown butter, spicy rice, barbeque corn and house slaw along with a dessert selection of chocolate covered strawberries, sticky toffee pudding, lemon tarts and salted caramel profiterroles! The room was beautifully decorated with candelabra centrepieces, dusky pink chair hoods with additional eucalyptus sprigs, an 8ft floral arch and large blossom trees.
Sophie's speech was amazing and even I got a mention by Lucy's dad!
Luckily, the weather was kind and lots of photos were taken in the Rose Garden and the brides even took a trip along the canal where Martin and Louise from www.instagram.com/10foottall took some beautiful photos - the brides even brought their beautiful little doggie for a few wedding shots.
Our cocktails proved popular on the night and we created a Ginger Spritz especially for Lucy.
The theme for the wedding was Bridgerton inspired so we played instrumental modern music inspired by the popular drama series before the DJ took over later in the day.
Sophie's request was for an 'emo hour' where her particular song choices were played which delighted some of the guests who took to the dance floor to burn off some of the calories from the wedding breakfast!
Minibuses arrived in the early hours to take the last of the guests to The Dunkenhalgh Hotel where guests were staying overnight as they had come from all 4 corners of the UK and beyond. Lucy and Sophie enjoyed a few days at home before jetting off on their honeymoon to The Maldives - lucky things!
We're now open on selected Fridays for our Pizza Night! Our opening hours are 5pm - 9.30pm and we stay open later for cocktails!
We opened early August 2023 and it's been a massive success. Everyone has enjoyed lots of lovely food from handstretched pizzas to smash burgers, wings and fries, followed by our fabulous desserts.
Not just pizzas - We've introduced Buffalo Wings, smash burgers, salt 'n' pepper fries and our beautiful desserts.
A regular on the menu now are our FREE WINGS WITH EVERY MAIN! Yes - you heard it right, completely free of charge with every pizza or burger order!
Our pizzas range from £8.99 to £10.99, smash burgers (with or without cheese) on a sesame seed brioche bun with lettuce and tomato served with our gourmet skin on fries.
If you've still room for dessert - our homemade raspberry cheescake will be on the menu this week as well as our homemade tiramisu and choc chip cookie dough with ice cream. We're also doing the cheesecake and tiramisu as takeaways so you can enjoy it at home later on.
We'll have our regular specials - 2x 12" pizzas and a bottle of house wine for £30. A margherita pizza, 2 bottles of Fruit Shoot and 2 ice creams for £15.

We can cater for dietary requirements too - we have gluten free pizza bases and can also make our desserts gluten free - advance bookings are necessary for desserts.
We hosted our first Sewcial Sewing group on 2nd August, followed by a request to hold another on 6th September.
Here is the group from 2nd August and we already have 14 booked onto the next group in September. These are becoming so popular so we're already planning the next event in October and thinking of making the events fortnightly so that different people can come to different events.
The day runs from 10.30am to 4pm and you are expected to bring your own machines and supplies, etc. There is a swaps table for any unwanted or 'willing to donate' items. Tea, coffee and water is supplied throughout the day and we provide a light lunch of sandwiches, salad, crisps as well as our homemade lemon drizzle cake.

The events are a fabulous day of sewing, chatting, swapping hints and tips, etc as well as the chance to win a prize in the raffle. This was the prize at the last event - a fabulous themed tote bag with a few metres of top quality fabric and a small bottle of prosecco included!
There may even be a Frocktail occasion next year where you can make a fabulous dress or suit and join us for dinner and cocktails with a chance to show off your creation on our catwalk! Watch this space!
